Strategy Guides
How To Play The Games:

1. Download all the files (I recommend downloading the ROMS last as they are the biggest files, so you don't have to wait)

2. Extract all the files.

3. You should have a folder called "IPSWin20". Open it and run "IPSWin.exe"


4. In the top box (File to patch) select the ROM form one of the folders (Pokemon Diamond or Pokemon Pearl). In the second box (IPS patch to use) select the file "lgc-pkmd.ips" which is in the "IPSWin20" folder.


5. Click Patch.

6. When finished, you should get a message saying file patched. Note this may take a minute or two so be patient.



7. Open up "NO$GBA.EXE" in the "no$gba-w" folder. Select the game you just patched.


8. You should have a working Pokemon Diamond/Pearl game!


Other tips:

To save the game you must press the X button (might be different for your emulator) to get the start menu, then scroll down and click save.




To change controls go to Options - Control Setup and then select the controls you want



3. To get faster speed try these settings:
Emulation Speed, LCD Refresh = -16.78 MHz Realtime, Auto
Sound Output Mode = Digital Mono (fast)
Sound Desired Sample Rate = Low (10kHz) (fast)

You set those up in the Options -> Emulation Setup or use the "F11" key.
And don't forget to click on the "Save options" in the Options menu..

5. If you crash after the first battle JUST TURN ON SOUND. At end of battle pokemon that faints makes a cry sound, and with disabled sound game freezes and waits for the cry of the fainting pokemon to be prosecuted.

Go to the Emulation options and set the "NDS Cartridge Backup Media" to "FLASH 256KBytest"

Don't forget tp hit "Save Options" after you changed them.

i have a problem!

my game starts but when i defeat the first starly my game stucks!
what to do?

You have to enable the sound in the options while playing Pearl or Diamond. It requires you to do so. Don't ask me why xD.

Weird...
Normally that should fix he problem. One more thing would be that you try a clean Diamond or Pearl ROM without that ips patch of this thread and then try again.
If it still doesn't work, I will try to find another solution.

accautaly the opposite is the answer i needed to turn the sound on!

but now when i try to load prevois saves its just ablack screen........

Well you know that "You have to enable the sound" means "You have to turn the sound on"?!? o.°

So now to your new problem:
Just start a new fresh game with sound enabled and save in your room (After the TV-Report). Then reset/reload the game or hit the "*" in your NUM-block and try if it loads the save file then.

Ive done everything that you guys have said, the game finally saves ,, However when i restart the game, I can bring up the save menu, but once I open the saved file the screen turns black.

I've been getting the same "black screen upon reload" thing as well. If anyone can tell me how to fix it, that'd be awesome.

I Think if you use a complete diffrant rom you wont get the black screen but i tried that it worked but when i restart comp it seems to fail to load save if u dont restart comp it will save perfectly but ive saved many diffrant ways to make it work when u restart but that takes forever and makes it a pain to save

I appreciate your writing this, it's been the most organized and easy to figure out as everything else i been looking at these last 2 days.. but i've been trying to make this game work on the emulator for hours and hours for the last 2 days. I've had the same problem every time, and it's really really causing me problems..

As you've heard others say, i've had the issue that it saves, but when i go to load it it freezes at a black screen in the emulator. The only solution i've been able to find so far is in the quote on the front post that says 'DO NOT PATCH THE ROM ON 2.6!' so i went and after searching and searching and searching, i got version 2.4d of no$gba. I downloaded ISPWin and patched the rom, only 1 of the three different sources i've tried by the way, and i attempted it again and it hasn't worked. So now i'm all out of ideas.. i've tried it on every setting of NDS cartridge backup, and everytime i've tried it i've deleted all the past settings/ect of no$gba. I'm totally lost and i really need help.. has anyone had this problem and fixed it? Or anyone have any idea as to why it's doing this? I've found multipal other people with the same problem that havn't been able to fix it yet.

And just a note, i've tried all of this on no$gba versions 2.4d, 2.5, multipal sources of 2.6, multipal different sources of different pokemon diamond ROMs, on each setting. Which means YES, i've been doing this for hours for days -.-...

so if anyone knows.. please help!!! X_x

i understand that i have to turn on sound but my computer does run sound for anything would that be a problem
I think i can get the load to work but I still need help with it

sometimes i randomly get a "microphone wave failure" and it crashes my game, how can i fix this?
